52 Weeks of Gratitude: Week 9

Two nights ago, we had some severe weather roll through the Saint Louis area around midnight.
The kind that makes the sirens go off.
The kind of sirens that make you drag sleeping children to the basement in the middle of the night.
The kind of storms that bring tornadoes.
At least three touched down along with straight-lined winds.

The closest tornado to us was about seven miles away.
But so many people had wind damage.
Trees blown over.
Fences knocked to the ground.
Electricity poles snapped in two.
Highway signs bent to the ground.

We  were fortunate to only have branches down in our yard.
A lot of them.
Ten piles of them all raked up.

Thank you, God, for protecting us in this storm!
