It’s been a while since I’ve reported on the ways I’ve given back to my community
with the ways God has blessed me.
Now that I’m feeling better it’s amazing how much stuff I am able to get around to! 🙂
Last spring I donated a session to a silent auction to help raise money to find a cure for MS.
My cousin Sarah has MS,
and the local Gateway MS Walk every June
has been a family affair for a long time now.
I haven’t been able to walk because of my back problems,
but this seemed like a great way to show my support
because every walking member of their team has to raise $1500
to walk 50 miles in 3 days
in the heat of a Saint Louis summer.
They are troopers, and I’m so proud of all of the walkers,
especially my cousin Sarah and my sister Lora!
Take a few minutes to check out this clip about the Gateway MS Walk.
At the very end of the clip are two ladies wearing blue M&M shirts.
That would be my mom and her sister Margaret, who is Sarah’s mom.
They used to be walkers, but now have the important job of SAGing–
being a support to their team of walkers.
They are the M&M team because their names are Margaret and Marquita!
Tomorrow is my session with the winners of the auction,
so I thought it was a great time to share about this opportunity to give back.
Thanks, Voges family, for supporting my cousin Sarah
and for trusting me with your family memories!
