Welcome, Baby Deacon! {Saint Louis Newborn Photographer}

Two weeks ago I had the honor and privilege to photograph my sister’s first birth.
I got the call at 5:30 on Sunday morning and managed to tackle packing and the 7.5 hour drive
to make it to the hospital by 2:15pm.

My kids were troopers!
And so was my father-in-law, who watched them so that this was all possible!
Thanks, Tom!!

The birth experience was amazing.
My poor sister had a mishap with her epidural getting unplugged,
so she had to fight her way through the toughest part of the labor while they figured it out
and got things reattached.
I was so proud of her!
And she has such a reward now for all of her hard work.

I stayed in town for a few days after the birth
to get some newborn pictures for birth announcements.
And I learned a very important lesson: don’t photograph newborns out of the hospital until AFTER mommy’s milk comes in. 🙂

So, it turned out to be a very LOOOONNNG session because of all of the feedings every 30 minutes,
but we managed to get some great pictures anyway.
Thanks, Shana and Kyle for your patience that day!
I hope you feel like it was all worth it!

I put together an album for them that captured all their pictures
from their maternity session to the birth to the newborn pictures.
Go grab a kleenex and take a look!
