This family.
Let me tell you.
Joe lost his mom to this world and his dad to the next.
Joe was in the system, and was featured on KSDK’s A Place to Call Home in 2013.
Then these two come along and adopt him…at 15 years old.
It has been amazing to watch God’s goodness and grace and love flow from them.
To see God orchestrate this story beginning with their love for kids as they volunteered in youth ministry to open their hearts to adopting an older child.
To the way their case worker forwarded them Joe’s video, even though they hadn’t seen it when it aired.
And God is using this adoption process to open Joe’s eyes to His love as his Father,
the love He has for all of us, adopting us into His family.
It’s enough to bring tears to your eyes!
Joe’s adoption was official back in April.
So these are their first official family pictures.
We chose Forest Park for their session so we could visit the zoo for a few pictures.
Joe had never been to the zoo before he was part of their family, so it’s a special place!
And his stuffies P-dog and Doptie help him remember that experience,
so naturally they had to make an appearance.
We got a few silly pictures too–of mom and dad with their “baby”
since they don’t have any pictures with him when he was little. 😉
And of course Joe’s fur-siblings needed to get in on some pictures too!
Thurman family, I’m so honored to be the first to photograph your family.
I pray these pictures will bless you with smiles and happy memories for many years to come!
