Parenting Children with Special Needs Magazine

In January of 2019, a special opportunity came knocking on my door.
It wasn’t one I was seeking out.
I was still on maternity leave after having my sixth child.
But when something lines up so much with what you’re already doing and believing,
it’s a hard thing to resist!

Some friends of mine were getting ready to have their miracle story published in a magazine.
They were so excited. I remember them telling me about their upcoming photoshoot.
Then it never happened. Their story was in jeopardy of not being shared.
So they told the editor they knew a photographer that they knew would help.
The rest is history.

I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know each of these families
and their amazing stories.
Check out all of their stories below.

    Colvin Family {Saint Louis Family Photographer}

    I have had the joy of knowing the Colvin family since their son, CJ, was in confirmation on retreat with his dad.
    I remember the first time I saw them hugging, and I knew there was something special about this family.
    Little did I know that our families would grow close,
    they would love my kids like their own.

    I am so honored that they allowed me to share their story through my pictures
    in the Parenting Children with Special Needs Magazine.
    Their story is inspiring. So is their faith.
    And CJ is about the kindest human being you will ever meet.
    Check out their story here.

      Welcome, Baby Alayna! {Saint Louis newborn and family photography}

      I just love being able to photograph not just newborns but entire families.
      I know it’s not always possible to get these dreamy shots before the baby is 10 days old…but when it is, get it done!
      These days go by so quickly…You’ll be tired, exhausted…

      …and babies change so quickly…
      Days turn into weeks and into months, and before you know it,
      your baby isn’t a baby anymore.
      It’s a special time you can treasure forever in pictures!

      Miss Alayna and even big sister Emmarie (see her newborn session here)
      were such good models for the session.
      So many smiles
      that will bring smiles for so many years to come!

      Wade and Lora, congratulations on the birth of your
      second beautiful daughter.
      You are blessed!

        Landreth Family Photos {Saint Louis Area Family Photographer}

        I had the pleasure of meeting this fun family
        because they were the winners of my donated session and product credit
        for the Caritas Family Solutions’ silent auction a few months ago.

        It’s the perfect time for family photos for the Landreth as their oldest son
        heads off to college in just a few short months.
        They are just going to cherish these memories! <3
        And what makes their pictures even more special
        is that we were able to take them at their house
        and at the golf course right next to their house.
        I love when familiar and beloved locations can be used in sessions!

        Landreth family, it was a pleasure  meeting you and getting to know you through this session.
        Patrick, many blessings to you as you head off to your first year of college.
        You’re one step closer to ruling the world.
        May these pictures bless you with smiles for many years to come!

          Mayer Family Session {Saint Louis Area Family Photographer}

          I cannot think of a better way to end my 2017 season
          than with a beautiful family session!
          We scouted out so many fun places to take pictures
          at their family property…it was hard to narrow down!
          Lighting always wins, so we went with the places that had the best open shade.
          And, oh, the weather–it was the warmest last session of the season I’ve ever had!

          The Mayer family came into the session knowing they wanted a display on their walls.
          Meeting my clients before-hand at the consultation allows me to go into the session
          with the final goals in mind. So we took pictures of possible locations for the images to hang,
          and then I started dreaming and visualizing how it would all come together.
          This is my passion–creating heirloom art that my clients are going to love for a lifetime.
          Using special software, I am able to take the pictures of my clients’ walls to show them
          how the sized canvas and frames will look proportionately on their walls before they commit to the purchase.
          I know they’re going to love it before they buy it!

          Mayer family, thank you for trusting me with your memories.
          I am honored!
          It was a pleasure to work with you, and I pray these images
          will bless you with smiles for many years to come!
