LMTPhotography bio picture
  • Welcome!

    I fell in love with photography when I was teaching in China. My eyes were opened to a world of beautiful faces and incredible art as I roamed the streets and markets of Shanghai. I took pictures of every new and exciting detail and scene to help me remember my time there when I returned home.

    Because photography is the memory of our lives. Photographs never change, even when the people in them do. My family lost my brother-in-law at a young age shortly after I returned from China. All we have left of him are the memories through our pictures. I wish we had more pictures of all of us together to show my kids the love and laughs we shared. Losing him motivated me to be a better memory creator for my family, and it fuels my passion for creating beautiful, timeless images that capture smiles and spirit.

    My goal as a photographer is to make this easy for you. I'm a mom of 5. I get that things need to be simplified in life. Let me give you pictures you'll love and an experience you'll enjoy. Now is the right time to schedule your session! Contact me--let's do this for you!

Thurman Family {Saint Louis Family Photographer}

This family.
Let me tell you.
Joe lost his mom to this world and his dad to the next.
Joe was in the system, and was featured on KSDK’s A Place to Call Home in 2013.
Then these two come along and adopt him…at 15 years old.
It has been amazing to watch God’s goodness and grace and love flow from them.
To see God orchestrate this story beginning with their love for kids as they volunteered in youth ministry to open their hearts to adopting an older child.
To the way their case worker forwarded them Joe’s video, even though they hadn’t seen it when it aired.
And God is using this adoption process to open Joe’s eyes to His love as his Father,
the love He has for all of us, adopting us into His family.
It’s enough to bring tears to your eyes!

Joe’s adoption was official back in April.
So these are their first official family pictures.
We chose Forest Park for their session so we could visit the zoo for a few pictures.
Joe had never been to the zoo before he was part of their family, so it’s a special place!
And his stuffies P-dog and Doptie help him remember that experience,
so naturally they had to make an appearance.
We got a few silly pictures too–of mom and dad with their “baby”
since they don’t have any pictures with him when he was little. 😉
And of course Joe’s fur-siblings needed to get in on some pictures too!

Thurman family, I’m so honored to be the first to photograph your family.
I pray these pictures will bless you with smiles and happy memories for many years to come!

Welcome Baby Josselyn! {Columbia and Saint Louis Family and Newborn Photographer}

God put this sweet family in my lives about 8 months ago.
It is an honor to photograph them, but not as big as the honor of calling them friends.

In October they welcomed their precious little girl, Josselyn.
I could have taken pictures in their house all. day. long.
Josselyn’s mom is a talented artist, and her style and decor are amazing!
Great light makes great pictures, and the light was best in the master bedroom,
so that’s where we focused most of the session.

Little Josselyn and her big brother were so cooperative for pictures…
and even Chouteau, the dog!
Oh my word…they were just adorable!

Wiese family, thank you for trusting me with your memories.
I hope these pictures bless your hearts with joy for many years to come!

Sanft Family {Saint Louis Family Photographer}

I just love when life comes full circle and you bump into people you haven’t seen in ages.
Rebecca’s dad was the vicar (pastor intern) at my church when I was growing up.
My sister just loved him, and asked him to come back years later to perform her marriage ceremony.
Rebecca contacted me once about my photography business for a college course she was taking.
Then boom, she’s married and has a fur baby!

Ryan and Rebecca, thank you for booking a mini-session with Making Spirits Bright
and gifting an unsponsored child from Compassion International a Christmas present
to make one more spirit bright this Christmas!

I loved our time together with Bentley, and I hope you enjoy showing off your pictures…
just in time for the holidays! 🙂

Leo is 3! {Saint Louis Child and Family Photographer}

Leo is one of the cutest, sweetest, silliest little guys I know.
And his smile and little laughs are just contagious!!
I had a great time with him and his dad getting some great shots to celebrate his 3rd birthday.
And his last birthday as an only child. 😉

Mark and Elizabeth, thank you for supporting Compassion International by
booking a Making Spirits Bright mini-session!
You will certainly be making an unsponsored child’s spirit bright with this Christmas gift!

Enjoy showing off Leo’s beautiful pictures to your friends and family!

Ariel’s Senior Session {Saint Louis and Waterloo Senior and Family Photographer}

Ariel’s family has such a special place in my heart.
Last year I took her brother Gabe’s senior pictures.
You can read his story here.

Ariel has the same Factor X deficiency as her brother,
but because they knew about it through Gabe’s experiences,
they were much more prepared when Ariel was born.

That being said, this girl has incredible strength.
She has overcome so many obstacles.
She has an amazing faith.
She studies hard.
She’s already been accepted to her college of choice.
I’m so incredibly proud of the young woman she has become!

Magee family, thank you so much for trusting me with your memories again.
It was my absolute pleasure to work alongside you for these pictures.
I had fun planning the session, working with you all,
and getting pictures I know are going to be heirlooms for your family.

Ariel, you are adventurous and smart and a little bit silly. 😉
I hope you enjoy your pictures,
and I hope they show you how truly beautiful you are inside and out!
God has gifted you with just the strength you need to face whatever lies ahead of you.
You’re going to do great in college, and I know that God is already using you in mighty ways!
