LMTPhotography bio picture
  • Welcome!

I fell in love with photography when I was teaching in China. My eyes were opened to a world of beautiful faces and incredible art as I roamed the streets and markets of Shanghai. I took pictures of every new and exciting detail and scene to help me remember my time there when I returned home.

Photography is the memory of our lives. Photographs never change, even when the people in them do. My family lost my brother-in-law at a young age shortly after I returned from China. All we have left of him are the memories through our pictures. I wish we had more pictures of all of us together to show my kids the love and laughs we shared. Losing him motivated me to be a better memory creator for my family, and it fuels my passion for creating beautiful, timeless images that capture smiles and spirit.

My goal as a photographer is to make this easy for you. I'm a mom of 5. I get that things need to be simplified in life. Let me give you pictures you'll love and an experience you'll enjoy. Now is the right time to schedule your session! Contact me--let's do this for you!

Evan Turns 3!

It’s hard for me to believe that in just a few days my son will be 3. The weather was great this weekend, so we got out for a session where Evan could get his pictures taken climbing trees, throwing rocks into water, and running around silly–this little boy’s dream day! 🙂

Christmas Family Mini-Session Give Away

Can you believe Christmas is only 3 months away? Enough said.

On Saturday, November 7th I’m hosting my first mini-sessions. And I’d love to give one to a deserving family. Here’s the twist: if you sign up and win, you can’t use it for yourself. In the spirit of Christmas, you have to give it away! So enter below with your name and tell me who you’d love to bless with this special give-away! The winner will be announced on Monday, October 19.

Lauren Creek - I would love to give it to my cousin Krista, who just had a new baby!

September 23, 2009 - 7:02 pm

Erica - Ha. You’re so cleaver, Lani! 🙂 Sign me up!! I know several deserving families!! The family I’m thinking of now has 4 kids and are out of a job. SAD, SAD situation! a free photo session for Christmas pictures of their family would be GREAT! 🙂 Add my name to that drawing!! 🙂

September 25, 2009 - 1:22 am

melanie werner - i would love to give this to my mom. all she has asked for christmas over the last 5 years is a professional picture of her kids. the last one that she has was taken around 15 years ago. each year when it comes christmas time we think of this but money has never allowed us to afford to do it. this would be the perfect christmas gift.i know that she would cherish it forever.

October 2, 2009 - 5:49 pm

Crystal Fox - I also think this is a fantastic idea! You are so giving Lani. If I won, I would also give this to my mom. She has always wanted a family picture of us, but over the years we never had the money and now my sister has moved out & she feels that she’s losing me too, even though she is not. 🙂 (Thats a mom for you i guess!) I know she would really enjoy this for christmas!

Mini-Session Interest

This fall I’d like to try something a little different to help my clients get great family pictures for those Christmas cards and save a little money in the meantime. On Saturday, November 7th I will be hosting mini-sessions at Bee Tree Park in Oakville, MO. For $100 you can have a half-hour session with a high-resolution CD of at least 5 images for you to print on your own. Normally one high-resolution image costs $50, so do the math…this is a big savings! Being able to stay in one place while families come to me to get their pictures taken in one day will save me money and time, so I would be thrilled to pass on those savings to you! But it’s only going to work if I get at least four families to commit, so sign up today and please tell your friends!

Here are the times I’ll be scheduling for Saturday, November 7. Spots are first come, first served.

9:00-9:30

N Family Preview

It was so great to get back into the picture business after a nearly 2 month break for our big move.  I met Mom and Dad N through small groups at our church last spring, and it was such a pleasure to work with their whole family. The weather was awesome, the shade was cooperating, and the boys were smiling. Who could ask for anything more? Oh! And it was my first session using the new flash that I just got for my birthday in August. FUN! 🙂 Enjoy these previews!

Winners!

Oh it feels SOOOO good to be in our own house! The TV and internet are finally hooked up, so I can announce the winners!

Becky Turner and Crystal Fox

Congratulations, guys! I can’t wait to meet with you to set up your sessions! It will be such a shorter driver for me too! 🙂

If you didn’t win this time, you can either blame my son (since he picked the winners) or you can stay tuned for my next give away!

Have a great week!! 🙂
