LMTPhotography bio picture
  • Welcome!

I fell in love with photography when I was teaching in China. My eyes were opened to a world of beautiful faces and incredible art as I roamed the streets and markets of Shanghai. I took pictures of every new and exciting detail and scene to help me remember my time there when I returned home.

Photography is the memory of our lives. Photographs never change, even when the people in them do. My family lost my brother-in-law at a young age shortly after I returned from China. All we have left of him are the memories through our pictures. I wish we had more pictures of all of us together to show my kids the love and laughs we shared. Losing him motivated me to be a better memory creator for my family, and it fuels my passion for creating beautiful, timeless images that capture smiles and spirit.

My goal as a photographer is to make this easy for you. I'm a mom of 5. I get that things need to be simplified in life. Let me give you pictures you'll love and an experience you'll enjoy. Now is the right time to schedule your session! Contact me--let's do this for you!

Give Away!

I had so much fun with my first give away that I’m ready to do it again! So this time, in honor of FINALLY having my own house again and for my 2nd give away event, I’m giving away 2 $25 gift certificates to lmtphotography. To enter this random drawing, just leave your name in a comment below on this post. I’ll be announcing the winners on August 24–the first day we’ll have internet access at our new house.

Why is this such a momentous event? It was over a year ago that my husband and I decided to boldly follow God’s calling to leave our church (my husband is a youth pastor) and brand new house that we had only been in for 10 months. So we packed up, headed south, and stayed with my parents until we could sell our house and buy another one. One month after we put our house on the market, the housing market crashed along with our hopes for a quick sell and a quick stay at my parents’ house. We are so blessed that our house sold at the end of April this year. We are even further blessed to have found a new home in a great neighborhood less than 3 miles away from our new church. And let me just tell you how excited we are to finally be able to sleep in our own bed again!… 🙂

End of Summer Scheduling

Can you believe it’s the end of July already? Wow. This summer has flown by fast!

I’ll be ending my summer on several good notes. For starters, my family is headed off for a well-deserved vacation (albeit short our van after engine failure…long story…) to northern Wisconsin to spend a week at my husband’s great aunt and uncle’s cabin near Mercer. We’re looking forward to a lot of down time, lazy days, boat rides, fishing, and camp fires. I couldn’t imagine a better vacation!

After we get back from vacation we’ll be packing to move into our new house. Praise the Lord!! We have been waiting over a year for our house in Minnesota to sell…we are so blessed to be able to be back on our own after living with my family for the last year!

I’ll be laying low with the photography stuff until we get in the house. So be thinking about the fall pictures you’d like to schedule for your families, babies, or seniors!

Know someone who's engaged?

I’d love to add some engagement pictures to my portfolio, but I just don’t know anyone who is engaged at the moment. If you do (know someone who is engaged and in need of some engagement pictures), please send them my way! I’ll be giving a special half price session to my first engagement couple!

And the winner is…

Diana Creek!

Congratulations, Diana! Please send me an email with your address to lani.palmer@yahoo.com so I can mail your gift certificate!

Thanks to everyone who participated. This was so much fun…I know I’ll be doing it again before the end of the year. There’s so much to celebrate…we’ll be moving into our new house at the end of August…we’ll be celebrating our 5 year anniversary at the end of the year…so many reasons to host another give away! Check back for the next one! 🙂

Doc and Chris' Wedding

The winner announcement will have to wait a few minutes more. 🙂

The day before we left for my husband’s aunt’s 2nd wedding found out she didn’t have a photographer. Well, I couldn’t let that be. So I took a few pictures for them to have something to remember it by other than the video. Doc and Chris have been dating for just about as long as Jon and I have been together, so we’re extremely happy to officially welcome Doc to the family and see his stocking up on Grandma’s wall this Christmas. 🙂

Since it was Chris’ 2nd wedding, it was pretty casual and low-key (which was especially fine by Doc and my husband too!). And we all felt so sorry for Chris who got laryngitis the day before her wedding. It’s no fun to be sick, but it’s especially no fun to be sick on your wedding day. So we kept the pictures low-key too.

Doc and Chris, a thousand congratulations! We’re so happy for you both! I hope you enjoy these special moments I captured for you!! 🙂
